Terms of service

1. About the Site

Affordabite is a map of meals at $15 or less in Los Angeles County. Listings can be out of date at any time, so confirm with the restaurant before you rely on anything here. We may add, change or remove listings at any time.

2. Where listings come from

Listings are compiled from public information, such as a restaurant's own menu or online ordering page, and from people who contribute. Prices and deals are as observed on the date shown and may have changed since; the restaurant decides what it honors. Tax and tip figures are estimates.

3. Your contributions

You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm it is first-hand, truthful and not meant to harass or defame anyone. You keep ownership of it and give Affordabite a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, edit, adapt, display and publish it in connection with Affordabite. We may edit, decline or remove contributions. If a claim arises from something you submit, you agree to cover it.

4. Photos and copyright

Only send photos you took yourself or have the right to share. A photo you send may appear on the restaurant's page, credited as "Photo from a visitor", and the license in section 3 covers it. If you hold the rights to something on the Site and did not allow its use, email hello@affordabite.app with a link to the page and a description of the work, and we will review it and remove it where appropriate.

5. Restaurants and owners

A restaurant does not need to sign up to appear; listings are built from public information and contributions. If you own or manage a listed restaurant and want a price, an hour or another detail corrected, or the restaurant has closed, email hello@affordabite.app from an address we can reply to, and we will look into it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false information
• Harass or defame anyone
• Scrape, bulk-copy or access the Site by automated means without our written permission
• Abuse rate limits
• Impersonate Affordabite or suggest that we endorse you
• Break the law

We may restrict access to protect the Site.

7. No warranties

You use the Site at your own risk. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Affordabite and the people who run it are not liable for anything arising from the Site, including inaccurate information or your dealings with a restaurant. If a court nonetheless finds liability, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Site.

9. Age

The Site is not for children under 13.

10. Governing law

California law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the courts in Los Angeles County.

11. Entire agreement

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Affordabite about the Site.

12. Changes

We may change these terms at any time. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site is acceptance.
